Solang Valley derives its name from combination of words Solang and Nallah. It is a side valley at the top of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, India 10 km northwest of the resort town Manali on the way to Rohtang Pass, and is known for its summer and winter sport activities & Paragliding.

The Himalayan Nyingamapa Gompa is situated near the market place in Manali. The architecture of this monastery replicates a more modern style than the earlier one. Placed in the midst of sunflowers, the monastery glows at night with light bulbs lit to lighten it up. The huge gold faced bronze statue of Lord Buddha presides over the monastery.

At a distance of 5 km from Manali Bus Stand, Vashist Temple in Manali is dedicated to sage Vashisht, the Kula guru of Lord Rama in the village Vashisht across the River Beas. Vashisht Temple, located in Vashisht village near Manali, is famous for sulphurous hot water springs, whose water is believed to have great healing powers.

The Naggar Castle is a magnificent historical structure. The castle was built by Raja Sidhi Singh in 1460 AD in an impressive combination of European and Himalayan architecture. The castle has traditional architecture called Kathkooni, which uses a combination of stones and wooden beams.

Rohtang Pass is a very beautiful and popular spot in Manali with more than 25 lakh visitors every year. The Pass offers a panoramic and spectacular mountain view. This pass was once served as an important trade route. It is an ancient trade route between the people on either side of Pir Panjal.
